I debated with myself whether to add hentai/lemon stories (that means with sexual content) to this list... after all, I am supposed to be a nice conservative woman... (yeah right!) But there are so much AWESOME smut out there *blushes*! Anyhow, let’s be honest, there are few fics in anime without any lemon content whatsoever. What I do draw the line at straight yaoi, but for some reason, I have linked two threesomes and a freaking foursome *hangs head in shame*. I will post a little warning next to each story that contains lemon. Sorry to disappoint all yaoi fans but I can't recommend a fic I haven't read, right?

You’ll notice there will be numerous Vegita/Bulma and lemon fics (most of V/B’s are or have lemon anyhow, hehe). If that is not your cup of tea, there are other stuff in here you can enjoy =).

Of course, there are other MANY very good fics out there. I've read so many wonderful stories and perhaps some of them weren't added to this list for one reason or another (maybe the story didn’t move me enough, had too many spelling mistakes etc…), but they were still enjoyable. This is not a comprehensive list in any way or form. These are the fics that made me gasp in amazement at such good writing (and subsequently, green with envy), had me fantasizing for days, stunned me and had me clamoring for more. I wanted what I thought to be the BEST in this particular list.

I have also linked dozens of fanfiction pages in my Links section which have quite great fanfics. After all, I haven’t read them all. Sadly, I was out of the fandom for four years so I got a LOT of catching up to do. And then again, this is just my opinion. What could be great for me could be awful for you. I've included the classics and some newer ones and this list will grow as I keep catching on fics I haven't read during my four-year hiatus from the fandom. A Glad Day by: Lisalu A awfully DARK version of the often-used theme of Bulma is taken to Vegita-sei as a slave and catches the eye of the Saiya-jin no Ouji. Disturbing but if you can stomach it, highly recommended. The story contains violence, sex and rape themes. However, at the end, it is very satisfying, if disturbing. Despite the fact I was often horrified by the story, I couldn’t put it down for one second. I was only able to read it once due, due to its intensity. Lisalu has the dark side of Vegita down to a science. It gives you the shivers. You will see Lisalu a LOT in this list. She is one of my favorites. Anything she writes is gold. Lemon warning. Against All Odds by: Tempest Temptation Bulma/Vegita get together. Bulma is a scientist under Frieza's command. She has a plan to bring the lizard down. She has the brains all she needs now is the brawn. This story if full of angst so tender and heart wrenching, it made me cry. After reading this story, I realized it was riddled with clichés and even had a slightly Mary Sue OC… but it didn’t matter because Tempest Temptation is such a great writer that it still drew me in and had me panting till the end. If you like alternative universes, B/V and a healthy dose of darkness, you will enjoy this. I thought the portrayal of all characters were great and this author is just awesome, okay? NEW! Chikyuu by: Lisalu Winner of one of Admira’s contests, set in an A/U universe in which Bulma survives the destruction of her world and meets Vegita. It is only two chapters long but darn it, what an explosive two chapters! Such passion, angst, explosive emotions bombarding me as I read it… This fic will leave you stunned once you read it. Dominion: Reprise by: Trinsan A very, very insanely, exceptionally first-class high quality fic. What if Dr. Gero's evil didn't end with the Androids? What if there were a horror so destructive that those seeking revenge for it would go to any lengths - any lengths at all - to gain justice? And what is this eighth Dragonball? This is a very serious fanfic; based after DBZ ended. It starts with Bulma dying, but don’t let this deter you. One of the most famous dbz fanfics out there and for a reason. Read Warnings Page. Down with the Sickness by: Crash An explosive fic, jam-packed with twists and surprises. It's just like watching a great martial arts action flick. A dangerous virus lands on Chikyuu and all the Saiya-jins are unavailable, leaving our humans and Namekians to fight against it with their fists and technology. Will everyone survive? If you like all the fighting and battle sequences in DBZ, you will love this story. [fanfiction.net]

Dragonball Super Z by: Mirai Bulma, Mirai Juhachi-gou, and Mirai Marron This is an ongoing series that starts in the Future time line when Juhachi-gou reappears but can’t remember any of the terrible things she did. Yes, there is a Trunks/Juhachi-gou romance involved but this tale encompasses so much (including action, romance, suspense, tangling timelines… you name it!) than that and I promise you will end up cheering for them anyhow. Lots of Vegita/Bulma for the many fans of this couple. The Z-Shenshi have so many adventures in these stories, it’s hard to keep them straight… It was never actually finished but what’s posted is satisfying and complete enough. The installments are stand-alones but its better to read them in order so you know what happened before. Awesome, awesome fics!!! Epic by: Prime Minister What if Vegeta had known from the outset that Freeza had been the one that destroyed his home planet and went ahead and tried to do something about it? An amazing Alternative Universe that completely rewrites DBZ. You'll meet most of the main cast, but a lot of things will be different. This fic is 70 chapters long (!!!), extremely well written and best of all, complete!!! Incredibly moving scenes between Vegeta and Bulma. What’s not to like? Read Warnings Page. NEW! Falling in Love a Second Time by: LavenderGoddessV Bulma and Vegita are finally together after struggling for so long with their relationship. Will Vegita set his pride aside to have the woman he loves return to him? Will they lose their love and their bond forever? A GREAT read, so very terrific! Had me on the edge of my seat. It’s suspenseful, romantic and it just makes you want to bite your fingernails during the whole thing. From Bad to Worse, Two Sides to a Story and A Dragonball Honeymoon by: Darke Angelus An inspiring, first-rate trilogy of this author's take on how Vegita and Bulma got together. She's got quite a few quite unique and interesting ideas of what happened during that famous three-year gap... including abduction, interfering women, jealous exes, an alien decease that strikes both Vegita and Trunks, Saiya-jin bonds among other things... these stories are like Dragonball sagas on to themselves. My favorite one was A Dragonball Honeymoon. Ahhh, so passionate, romantic and bursting with adventures! Perhaps the Vegita of these stories is a bit more vulnerable than usual, and this fic contains quite a bit of Chichi bashing -although if you believe her version of Chichi, you'll be bashing her too, but DA make sit work. I would definitely recommend this fic if you are a Vegita/Bulma lover, you just cannot read them. Start from the beginning and Read From Bad to Worse. Lemon warning. In the Room of Spirit and Time by: Nora Jemison Early in the Cell saga, the Z-warriors trained in a special chamber where one year passed for every day in the real world. Vegita and Mirai Trunks went in as strangers . . . and came out as father and son. Ever wonder what happened in there between them? Here's a possible answer. I ADORE these two characters and I specially love this story. A psychological drama written by the incomparable Nora. Nine chapters long. You'll need winzip to download this fic. Ki Blind by: Sholio An high-quality action fic with all the ensemble cast getting their turn to shine. The Z-senshi have mysteriously lost their ability to control ki, and the Earth is being invaded. Will strategy succeed when brute strength fails? Very good characterization, awesome writing… Full of surprises, action and tender moments. Highly recommended! [official webpage] [fanfiction.net]

The Last Warrior and its sequel Full Circle by: Nora Jemison This is THE epic Mirai Trunks story. If you haven’t read it before, OH MY GOD, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??!!! Seriously, I’ve read this story so many times it’s insane and the best part is, it is finished!!! It introduces Shiatar, a half-Saiya-jin original character that literally drops from an alternative reality right smack into Trunks’ life and changes it forever. Excellent, wonderful, outstanding. Full Circle, its sequel is about Shiatar’s quest to free her world from the evil Saiya-jin reign and we meet different versions of Vegita, Bulma, Kakarot, Chichi and Raditz and others from the cast. In this reality, Vegita-sei was never destroyed so Vegita is a lot more ruthless and evil than we are used to and Kakkarot never hit his head so he is not the sweet childish hero we know… but, will he surprise us? I would say it is the best dragonball fanfic out there, but you be the judge. There is also an epilogue titled Before and After which you can find in the same folder I’m directing you to. The Marron Sandwich, Marron Sandwich 2: Yours Mine and Ours & Marron Sandwich 3: Different Definitions of Forever by: Kinomi Normally, I wouldn’t be into this type of stuff, but damn, Kinomi writes so WELL. Trunks is in love with both of his best friends, will one of them be left out in the cold? Not if Goten has his way... Yes, there are two threesomes scenes and some yaoi action in this trilogy but honestly, if it bothers you a lot, you can kind of skip over the m/m because there is more m/f than m/m in any case. Very emotional, scorching, HOT AS HELL and well, you know what, just read it, alright? I guarantee you won’t regret it. Mind of a Prince by: Trisan From the writer of Dominion:Reprise, the best Bulma/Vegita in cannon and in character get-together out there besides Darke Angelus’ take on it. The characters jump at you and act just like in the series. It is told from Dende’s point of view while he tells Mr Popo the story of how events transpired. This fic just sparkles with vivacity. NEW! Never Meant to Love him by: Ember Bulma wants to make sure her Halloween party is a success. Who does she turn to for help... none other than Vegeta of course. It seems, however, that she has a double motive for asking him, will she succeed in hardening her heart, or will it throw them closer together? I enjoyed this fic greatly and commend Ember for her creativity. We get to find out what Vegita was doing out in space while training for the Androids, so this fic is much more than just a V/B. NEW! Lab Monkey by: Tempest Temptation AU BV Instead of Yajirobe cutting off Vegeta's tail, Bulma captures him. Now he is imprisoned in her lab and wants out, of course. What will she do with the deadly prince? This is Tempest Temptation’s masterpiece and just recently finished. I had the pleasure of reading it from top to bottom after it took her four years to complete. Her diction and style are flawless. She has such a great handle of the language and her story, she commands the narrative in such a way that leaves you speechless. Can you tell I approve of the story? The Ones they take for Granted by: Pareathe This is a Goku/Videl fic. No, neither Gohan or Chichi are dead and no, its not an alternative universe… It freaked me out too when I first started reading it but I was so curious to see how the author would work it and wow! Yes, it deals with infidelity and it is full of angst, but the burning lust and the sheer emotional factor of this story is staggering. So HOT *fans face*. I will never see Goku the same way again. Raditz’s Return & Mythic Descent by: Dragoness Eclectic Hey, you just can't keep a bad Saiyan down. Not this one, anyway. And eight years in Hell can change even a Saiyan warrior's attitude... especially when his dead prince seeks him out in Hell and requires a small favor of him. Dragoness manages to convincingly present Raditz into the dbz universe yet again while giving him an 8-year-in-hell makeover. Adventures follow. Great characterization, plot and writing. You a Raditz fan? Head over here in a hurry and even if you just have a mild liking of him, you will love these fics. [official webpage]

The Red Dragon Teratology by: Lisalu Exceedingly emotional, dark, deals with some disturbing themes and so, so awesomely well written. I bow down to the goddess that is Lisalu. I am not worthy. This fic follows our heroes many years after the Buu saga is over. An old enemy returns to destroy the Saiya-jins of Chikyuu and take over the universe with the help of the Red Dragonballs. What new adventures await them? Cannon couples very well done. It has the most convincing Goten/Bra and Trunks/Pan pairings ever and more surprises than you expect. I used to wait with baited breath for the next chapter but alas, unfortunately, this fic was never finished and probably never will be but if you can live without knowing what happens next, I urge you to read it anyway because it is Dragonball fanfiction at its finest. Saiya-jin, A Dragonball Withdrawal Whim by: Katchan With this extremely famous fifty chapter epic that was never finished, Katchan became the most popular dragonball fanfic writer along with Nora back in the mid and late 90's. She introduces her original character Japhia, a Saiya-jin that comes to Chikyuu to wreak havoc. She seduces Trunks and just turns everyone’s lives upside-down. There is some great interaction between the Vegita family and between the Son clan, specially Goku and Chichi. She was co-originator of the famous widespread in fan fiction Saiya-jin bond with Nora Jemison, introducing the bite. Great read, even if we’ll never know what happens at the end. There is some yaoi between Yamcha and an original character and I remember how much controversy this caused in the mailing lists back then when that sort of thing was a bit scandalous. Personally, I would just skip those sections because even though I’m not into that, the story was too good to stop reading it just because it had that one aspect that didn’t appeal to me. Shadows by: Immicolia A story about Trunks in the Mirai timeline and Junnana-gou plays an important part. The author created an original character, Nana-gou, the 7th cyborg. Mirai Trunks will eventually kill off the cyborgs, of course, but what happened in the meantime? What if a rogue cyborg joined Trunks in his fight with the two cold hearted killers? It is a very sad and heart wrenching story but very well written and can be read quickly because it’s not a long-ass epic. Lemon warning. [official webpage]

Soul Under by: Celine Madperson Celine became quite famous in the dbz fandom with her beautiful and breathtaking fanart. She also wrote Soul Under, a fanfic she never finished which stretched and broke the limits of what a fanfic should be… it is full of disturbing themes and it is quite complex and intricate. Strange creatures are lurking, they are not from this world, death beckons. She embraces Vegita’s dark side and twists it around in a breathtaking way… If you are not bothered by the dark themes or by the fact it remains unfinished, this fic is highly recommended! Surviving Together by: LavenderGoddessV I just discovered LavenderGoddessV and I ask myself, where had this author been my whole life! This is the first fic of hers I read and I am sure I am going to end recommending most, if not all her fics in this list. Surviving together and it's two sequels (Surviving Together: A new Legacy and Surviving Together: Retribution) are Vegita/Bulma alternative universes. What can I say, I'm a sucker for epic, romantic, angsty V/B get-togethers. Truth to be told, the first and second stories are the best, specially the second one but they are all great. Bulma is only one of the handful of survivors from Earth after its purged and she's given to Vegita as a sex-slave... however, things don't turn out the way anyone expected... Bulma ends up escaping and they get separated for ten years (!!!) and get reunited... just for tragedy to strike yet again. Will they ever be together for good? Warning, this fic has violence, sex, rape (NOT by Vegeta, not really) voyeurism, angst and other adult themes. It is not that disturbing compared to other V/B’s I've read but heed the warnings... NEW! The Sweet Scent of Passion by: Orchideater Unable to solve her and Goku's problems with intimacy on her own, Chichi grows desperate and calls for help from Bulma and Yamcha. Bulma decides the best solution is a hands-on approach. G/CC/Y/B This is a *Dragonball* comedy sex fic. You have been warned. Seriously, this fic is not for everyone. I myself, being a closet pervert absolutely loved it. Her descriptions of everything are spot on and I can honestly believe this happened, even though I hope it didn’t, I mean, poor Chichi! World Enough and Time by: Lisalu What if Vegita-sei hadn’t been blown up by Freeza because Bardock’s prediction was heard and heeded? What if then Freeza destroyed Chikyuu and only Bulma and Goku survived and she ends up in Vegita-sei? I believe this is the best Alternative Universe Vegita/Bulma story ever. It is brilliant, outstanding, superb, wonderful, heart wrenching… Just a dream come true. Vegita is the way he was supposed to be, raised as a true prince, without the influence of heartless and evil Freeza. Sure, he's still gone through hell, but at least its been on his terms. Bulma is more mature due to all what she's experienced. Will these two stubborn, strong, beautiful people be able to set all obstacles aside to be together? Also, this fic is not just about Bulma and Vegita, other characters are developed in a wonderful way, like Bardock and Zarbon. The ending is just so very wonderful! One of my favorite fanfics EVER. I have read it at least four times and plan on continue rereading it once in a while. That is how good it is. Lisalu is a master and this story is her masterpiece, just read it. You HAVE to. Vejiitasei Ascendant by: Jeanne Burch This is the original Vejiitasei-is-still-around-and-Vegeta-is-sent-to-Chikyuu-to-discover-what-happened-to-Radditz-and-gets-together-with-Bulma fic. However, that's only Book two. VA is divided into four books, and book three is three fourths done. Book one deals with Vegeta's young life, book two is his journey to Chikyuu (and falling in love with Bulma, of course) and book three is about life on Vejiitasei with Bulma. This fanfic will rock your socks! Some folks are a bit iffy about some of the subject matters in this fic. Nothing graphic but just read the warnings just in case. She pairs Raditz with Zarbon and yes, Zarbon plays a very important role in this fic. Jeanne is very reclusive and it is near next to impossible to reach her. She has a yahoo group to let people know when she updates, so check it out if you are interested. Vejiitasei Ascendant Updates. Can you believe she’s been writing this fic since 2001? She updated this fic recently, on July of 2007 so it means there is still hope for this fic to be finished! If you hate not knowing what happens, I would read books one and two which are complete and are stories in themselves. You will be Mine by: MorgauseNokami Possibly the best Trunks/Pan fic out there. For a moment, I hesitated in adding it to this list. After all, Pan in heat + reluctant Trunks + meddling parents & friends + Saiya-jin Bond = one big cliché… However, the author manages to make it work. Her fresh writing, her insightful characterizations and imagination had me pretty hooked to the story. The ending was a bit open-ended but very realistic. Personally, I loved this story. I liked what she did with the next generation so if you enjoy reading about the younger gang, give this fic a try. [fanfiction.net]

The Third Bond by: Nora Jemison This is THE SHORT STORY. In it, Nora introduces the Saiya-jin bond, in which two members of the opposite sex are bonded forever in an empathic connection. No this bonding stuff was not in the series so all those stories you read in which you see this bonding and biting thing came from this story and from Katchan. The interaction between Vegita and Bulma is awesome, I can totally picture this happening because they are so in character. The bond is so believable.
